Metro Stop

The quiet was deafening,
The station was empty.
And so I stood there, waiting for the usual transportation.
A screeching sound started screaming
As I bent over the tracks to understand what was happening,
I saw two yellow eyes in the darkness.
As the light was getting more intense
And as the wheels were screaming,
I saw in horror the green, fast, heavy monster of steel escaping the tunnel
As a predator reaching for his prey.
The train came in the dark station,
Speeding on the tracks.
But the last wagon jumped off the tracks and landed on the platform
Dragged by the leading car,
It was sweeping off the platform in a screech.
I was trapped, there was nowhere to go.
Powerless, I watched in horror my fate running to grab me
My only escape was opening my eyes;
I knew that I was asleep and yet dreamt of waking up.
I was trying to open my eyes, but the eyelids seemed sealed together.
The wagon was a few feet away now,
But finally, short of breath, I opened my eyes.
