I was climbing up the cliff,
The same way Odysseus had on film,
I felt tired and exhausted the sand flew in my eyes,
Unable to wipe my face,
I was forced to blink endlessly,
Until my sight slowly came back.
Above me I could see the sun,
Blazing in temperature, and color.
Suddenly the rays of light came closer and closer to the cliff,
But I could not sense any exerting heat.
Through the middle of a beam,
Hermes appeared, just like when he visited Odysseus.
His pure white wings and gold shoes
Were unimaginably perfect.
Speaking to me slowly and clearly,
He told me to let go.
Hesitant and unsure, I listening to the stranger.
I released each finger carefully,
Letting gravel fall between my knuckles,
My weight began to fall picked up more speed,
Hermes fell beside me smiling.
I could feel my stomach filling my throat
As I fell closer to the pebbles.
His breath quickly slowed me down.
My feet were gently places on the ground.
Hermes’ golden wings fluttered away,
As i swam to Ithaca, stroke by stroke.
The same way Odysseus had on film,
I felt tired and exhausted the sand flew in my eyes,
Unable to wipe my face,
I was forced to blink endlessly,
Until my sight slowly came back.
