Cruisin’
By: REL

On a beautiful cruise
Smoothly drifting over
The imaginary waters of France
Overlooking colors one can only dream of
With monkeys and birds and elephants and fish
It was a beautiful sight
So unreal it could not possibly be just a cruise
And a pool at the edge
To make it look like you are swimming in the ocean.

Aboard this ship there was a boyfriend
He had brown hair and was a bit short
None of the crew knew about this boyfriend
So when I began to talk to him
I was seen as a bad example to the children of this cruise
“A bad example?”
My mother shrugged and walked away.

Through this there comes a conflict
The cruise was only so long
I decide that I need to get away
Away from the ship, and away from these people
I suddenly appear on land, clearly a sign of freedom
And then I am driving the cruise’s car
I hope they are not mad that I stole their clown car.

Driving through the streets of France
I know my way to the closest ice cream store
But not only was I not following the rules of the road
But my brake would not work
So, like a child’s toy truck, I stick my feet through the bottom of the car
This works for a couple seconds, until the car completely deflates
“Damn car.”
I end pulling up into a parking space
Dragging what looked like a blow up car.

I walk inside the store, and found it strange that not one person there
Seemed to be speaking in their native tongue
All of them spoke English
But not speaking of anything
Of much importance
I stand in line and wait to be confronted by a shady woman with greasy black hair
The seem to be speaking of friendly topics.

I come up to the front counter
And am faced with about eleven different flavors
Eleven flavors, but not one of them look very appetizing to me
Instead of chocolate mint chip
There was poop sized lumps of chocolate
Swimming in a pool of green mint
My last thought is of one of complete disgust;
I also wish I have some ice cream…
